adidas and Yohji Yamamoto have reintroduced the fierce, fashion-forward Y-3 F50 Tunit football boot ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup 2026.

Back in 2006, Y-3 united the worlds of football and avant-garde design with the original Y-3 F50 Tunit Beast Pack ahead of that summer’s World Cup in Germany, which was won by Italy.

Now, 20 years on and looking ahead to FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto have brought back the iconic boot, which pioneered a new era of expression in the beautiful game.

First glimpsed in Paris during Y-3’s Fall/Winter 2026 presentation, the reborn pack awakens the mythical beasts in both a walkable, street-ready iteration and an updated performance version. Drawing on Japanese mythology, the lifestyle silhouette features the original beasts from 2006- a blue dragon, a yellow tiger, a red eagle, and a silver wolf.

Sharpened and updated for the current day, the Y-3 F50 Tunit transforms cleats into a walkable outsole unit- taking it from the pitch to the street as a defiant crossover statement.

The pitch ready version, meanwhile, centres on the wolf as the leader of the pack. Maintaining the artwork and lace cover from the original 2006 cleats, the 2026 F50 Elite FG Tunit Y-3 is reimagined with adidas’ most advanced technical updates as a firm ground boot. Each pair is finished with Yohji Yamamoto’s signature.

Expect some of the world’s most famous players to endorse the F50 on the pitch in the next World Cup, which will be staged in Canada, Mexico, and the United States and run from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19.

The Y-3 F50 Tunits are now retailing online from between €299 and €400.
