Navratri celebrates nine nights of Goddess Durga. Scriptures say the Goddess descends to bless devotees. Among the many rituals, cowrie (shell) remedies are believed to bring wealth, remove debts, and ensure prosperity.

According to astrologer Sridhar Shastri of Haridwar, cowries were once used as currency and are considered symbols of Goddess Lakshmi. Performing special cowrie rituals during Navratri can attract endless wealth and remove financial troubles.

Take 5, 7, 9, 11, or 21 cowries, purify with Ganga water, apply turmeric, and place them in the pooja room. Worship Goddess Durga with Durga Saptashati and offer aarti. Then tie the cowries in red cloth and keep them under your pillow at night. This is most effective on Ashtami or Navami.

Take 7, 9, or 11 yellow cowries (or paint white ones with turmeric), purify them, tie them in red cloth, and place them near the Goddess Durga or Lakshmi’s idol in your pooja room. After worship, keep this bundle in your locker or money storage. It is believed to ensure endless prosperity.
