Uttar Pradesh News: Severe Storm Causes Widespread Damage Across Uttar Pradesh, Claims Life in Firozabad

Severe thunderstorms and strong winds wreaked havoc across several cities in Uttar Pradesh, causing widespread damage to infrastructure and disrupting normal life. In Agra, a moving car was struck by a falling utility pole near St. John Crossing after powerful winds swept through the city. Fortunately, all occupants escaped unharmed. The storm also uprooted trees, damaged hoardings, blew away tin sheds, and disrupted electricity supply in multiple areas, leading to prolonged power outages. In Hamirpur, a major accident was narrowly avoided when an old tree collapsed onto a tin shed inside the Kotwali premises. The structure, which is usually occupied by police personnel and visitors, was vacant at the time, preventing any injuries. Meanwhile, in Chitrakoot, the upper portion of an auditorium under construction at a cost of approximately ₹4.5 crore was damaged by the strong winds. In Firozabad, one person lost their life and five others were injured after a wall and an iron gate collapsed during the storm, highlighting the destructive impact of the extreme weather across the state.
