Uttar Pradesh News: Dense Fog Triggers Multiple Vehicle Collision and Fire on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura

A major road accident occurred on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district after multiple vehicles collided due to dense fog and poor visibility. The incident took place late at night near milestone 125, under the jurisdiction of Baldev police station, when buses and cars traveling from Agra towards Noida rammed into each other in a chain collision. According to initial reports, extremely low visibility caused drivers to fail to notice slowed or stationary vehicles ahead, leading to consecutive crashes. Following the collision, several vehicles, including at least one bus and multiple cars, caught fire, creating panic at the scene. Passengers were seen fleeing the vehicles as flames and smoke engulfed parts of the expressway. Police, fire brigade teams, and medical personnel rushed to the spot immediately and began rescue and relief operations. As per official confirmation so far, four people have lost their lives in the accident, while more than a dozen others have been injured. Several critically injured victims have been referred to Agra’s SN Medical College, while others are undergoing treatment at Baldev Community Health Centre and the district hospital. Traffic on one stretch of the expressway was severely affected, and authorities have advised commuters to follow diversions. Further investigation is underway.
