UP Politics: Large Gathering of BJP Brahmin MLAs Sparks Political Buzz in Lucknow

A major political development has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, drawing attention to the internal dynamics of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Nearly 40 BJP MLAs belonging to the Brahmin community reportedly gathered at the residence of Lucknow-based BJP Legislature P.N. Pathak. The meeting, held under the banner of “Sahaj,” was attended by legislators from regions including Purvanchal and Bundelkhand. Prominent BJP MLAs such as Ratnakar Mishra, Umesh Dwivedi, Prakash Dwivedi, Shalabh Tripathi, Ramesh Mishra, Rakesh Goswami, Saket Mishra, and Kailash Shukla were present. Sources indicate that out of nearly 45 Brahmin MLAs in the BJP legislature party, around 40 attended this meeting, making it a significant show of unity and strength.According to sources, discussions focused on increasing Brahmin representation within the party and government, ticket distribution based on community percentage, and strengthening collective political influence. A video clip from the meeting has also surfaced, in which a participant is allegedly heard emphasizing ticket allocation proportional to community representation. This meeting comes days after similar community-based gatherings, including one held by Khatri Society MLAs under the banner of “Kutumb.” Political observers see these meetings as an attempt by communities within the BJP to consolidate influence and assert their role in decision-making ahead of upcoming political developments.
