In a major development in the high-profile Unnao rape case, former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court, triggering fear and distress among the survivor and her family. Following the court’s decision, the survivor and her mother staged a protest at India Gate in Delhi, opposing the bail and seeking justice. Late at night, police removed them from the protest site, visuals of which have surfaced. Speaking to the media, the survivor expressed deep anguish over the bail order and said the family is living under constant fear. She stated that they plan to approach the Supreme Court to challenge the decision, once the court reopens after the vacation. The survivor’s mother also appealed for justice, saying the family feels unsafe and betrayed by the latest ruling. Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was earlier convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the case, has faced multiple serious charges. The bail order has reignited debate over victim safety and justice in sensitive cases.
