Amid ongoing tariff tensions, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has issued a sharp warning to India, saying the country will come to the negotiation table within one to two months. Lutnick claims India will attempt to make a deal with President Donald Trump. He also outlined three conditions India must meet: stop buying oil from Russia, quit being part of the BRICS group, and fully support the U.S. dollar and America’s interests. Lutnick stressed that India’s reluctance to open its market, continue purchasing Russian oil, and remain in BRICS is problematic for the U.S. He warned that India must support the dollar and the United States, its biggest customer, or else face consequences like increased tariffs.
