Shiv Sena UBT Row: MP Sanjay Dina Patil Cites Internal Issues Behind Party Discontent

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) Member of Parliament Sanjay Dina Patil has publicly addressed internal tensions within the party, stating that his disagreements are not with Uddhav Thackeray or his family but with certain party leaders and unmet commitments. Speaking in an interview, Patil alleged that dissatisfaction grew over a period of time due to unfulfilled assurances regarding organisational roles and responsibilities. He claimed that despite being elected as an MP, expectations regarding support and party positions were not met, leading to increasing frustration within his political journey. According to Patil, repeated requests for roles and opportunities within the party structure were ignored over several years. He suggested that this lack of internal resolution and limited engagement with concerns contributed to growing dissatisfaction among some members. He further stated that his issues were not personal with the top leadership but were linked to specific individuals within the organisational framework. Patil maintained that he had remained patient for years, hoping for improvement, but said conditions worsened over time instead of improving. The MP also made strong remarks regarding internal conflicts and security concerns, alleging that tensions had escalated in certain areas. However, he emphasized that he continues to rely on institutional security arrangements and expressed confidence in his own position. Despite the criticism, Patil reiterated his association with party workers and acknowledged their role in his electoral success. He urged party supporters to remain aware of internal dynamics while maintaining unity at the grassroots level. The statements come amid ongoing political churn within the Shiv Sena (UBT) camp, which has been dealing with factional disputes and shifting loyalties since the party split. Political observers view Patil’s comments as another sign of internal strain, though no formal split or disciplinary action has been announced so far.
