Senthil Balaji will be cause of ‘unpleasant situation’ for DMK: AIADMK chief Palaniswami

Pudukottai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 1 (PTI): AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Wednesday said former Tamil Nadu minister V Senthil Balaji will be the cause of an “unpleasant situation” for the ruling DMK leading to that party’s setback at the hustings.

Addressing a poll rally here the Leader of the Opposition flayed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin for praising Senthil Balaji who was allegedly involved in a cash for job scam.

“Stalin is praising Senthil Balaji and says he need not worry about Assembly election outcome as victory is assured due to Senthil Balaji’s presence (in Karur). But it will be Senthil Balaji who will be the cause of an unpleasant situation for the chief ,inister and his DMK,” Palaniswami said and colloquially used the word “aappu” to emphasis that Senthil Balaji would place a trap, causing a major setback.

It was the same Stalin, who as Leader of the Opposition, faulted Balaji, and now has changed his stance, Palaniswami added.

“The mention of Rs 10 brings to one’s mind Senthil Balaji,” he further said referring to the party’s frequent jibe at Balaji for his alleged involvement in liquor scam.

At this remark, the party members waved Rs 10 notes, prompting Palaniswami to break into a smile and say “you seem to know more than I do.” When asked to comment about expelled leader O Panneerselvam who joined the DMK recently and has been nominated to contest from his home constituency of Bodinayakanur, Palaniswami said, “Leave it, let’s not talk about him on an auspicious occasion as today.” “Now it has clearly been exposed who the DMK’s B team is. Those who attempt to destroy the AIADMK will be ruined,” Palaniswami, who is seeking re-election from Edappadi Assembly constituency, said. PTI JSP NB NB
