Red Fort Blast: Hyundai i20 from Pulwama Suspect Under Probe, CCTV Footage Reveals Key Timings

On Monday evening around 6:50 pm, a massive explosion occurred near the Subhash Marg traffic signal close to Delhi’s Red Fort. The blast, caused by a Hyundai i20 car, was so powerful that six to seven nearby vehicles caught fire, injuring several pedestrians on the footpath. According to Delhi Police, CCTV footage shows the i20 entering the Red Fort parking around 3:19 pm and exiting at 6:48 pm, moments before the explosion. The car is registered to Pulwama resident Umar Tarikh, who reportedly purchased it from Royal Car Zone, a Faridabad-based used car dealership. Authorities have tried to contact the company but received no response. National security agencies, including Delhi Police, NSG, and FSL, are jointly investigating to determine who brought the vehicle to the area and how many people were involved. Forensic experts have collected samples to identify the chemicals or explosives used in the blast.
