Rajasthan News: Police Begin Crackdown on Stone-Pelters After Violence Outside Jaipur Mosque

The Jaipur Police have initiated a crackdown on those involved in stone pelting during the violent incident that erupted outside a mosque in the rural Chomu area of Jaipur. In its first official statement, the police confirmed that multiple teams have been formed to identify and arrest the individuals responsible for attacking security personnel during the early morning unrest on Friday. The violence reportedly broke out around 4:00 am over a dispute related to the removal of stones near the mosque premises. Police officials stated that when authorities attempted to prevent the situation from escalating, a group of people allegedly resorted to stone pelting, injuring nearly half a dozen police personnel on duty. To control the situation and disperse the crowd, police were forced to carry out a lathi charge and use tear gas shells. Following the incident, security was intensified in the area to prevent further unrest. As a precautionary measure to maintain law and order and curb the spread of misinformation, mobile internet services were suspended for 24 hours. Senior police officials have stated that the situation is currently under control and strict action will be taken against those found guilty. An investigation is underway, and authorities have appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
