Rahul Gandhi Demands Immediate Action for Dalit IPS Officer’s Family, Calls for Arrest of Accused Officials

Rahul Gandhi has publicly demanded urgent action regarding the case of a Dalit IPS officer, Y.P. Poon Kumar, who reportedly faced systemic harassment leading to his tragic death. Addressing the issue, Gandhi emphasized that the victim’s family has been subjected to undue pressure and stressed that the government must ensure their safety and dignity.He urged both the Prime Minister of India and the Chief Minister of Haryana to act immediately, stating that officials responsible for harassment, including DJP Shatrughan Kapoor and IPS Narendra Bijariya, should be arrested without delay. Gandhi highlighted that the case is not just about one family but represents a broader struggle for respect and justice for Dalits across the country. He also called for a clear path to conduct the officer’s funeral without interference, asserting that promises made by authorities must be fulfilled.The Congress leader framed the demand as both a fight for justice and for the dignity of Dalit families nationwide.
