Protests Over Bangladesh Violence: Protests Erupt in Siliguri Over Alleged Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh

Protests have intensified in India over the reported attacks on the Hindu minority in Bangladesh, with Hindu organizations staging a strong demonstration in Siliguri on Wednesday morning. The protesters gathered on the streets to express anger over the alleged killing of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh, an incident that has triggered widespread outrage across the country. During the protest, members of various Hindu organizations raised slogans against the Bangladesh administration and burned an effigy of Muhammad Yunus, holding him responsible for what they described as the deteriorating security situation for minorities in the neighboring country. Protesters alleged that minorities, particularly Hindus, are being targeted and are not receiving adequate protection from local authorities. According to claims made by the organizations, the Hindu youth was attacked despite the presence of police, raising serious questions about law enforcement and minority safety in Bangladesh. These allegations have further fueled public anger and calls for accountability. In response to the growing protests, security has been tightened outside the Bangladesh High Commission and related diplomatic premises in India. Hindu organizations, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, have issued appeals for nationwide protests, demanding international attention and stronger measures to ensure the safety of minorities in Bangladesh. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any law-and-order issues.
