‘Prophet Muhammad Content In TN Syllabus’: Stalin’s Muslim Outreach, Slams AIADMK ‘Double Standards’ On Key Issues

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday sharpened his attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), assuring the Muslim community that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) would always safeguard their interests. Highlighting steps taken by his government, Stalin noted that content related to Prophet Muhammad has already been included in the Tamil Nadu school curriculum.

Addressing an Islamic event in Chennai, Stalin criticised the BJP-led Union government over the Waqf law amendment and claimed it was only because of the DMK’s legal battle, along with others, that the Supreme Court stayed certain provisions of the amendment.

“Only due to legal fight by DMK and others, we have got stay on Waqf amendment provisions from Supreme Court,” the Chief Minister said, as per news agency PTI. He also accused the AIADMK of staging a “deceitful drama” on the same issue.

Stalin Targets AIADMK Over CAA, Triple Talaq

Without naming former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Stalin alleged that people were aware of which government oversaw the baton charge on Muslims protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

He also lashed out at the AIADMK for what he called its “double standards” on triple talaq. “Everyone is aware about double standards of AIADMK on triple talaq issue,” he remarked, adding that due to the party’s “betrayal,” leaders such as Anwar Raja had left and joined the DMK.

Stalin Stresses DMK’s Commitment to Minority Rights

The Chief Minister reiterated that the DMK has always extended solidarity to minorities. “It was DMK that fought against CAA with true spirit of friendship,” he stated. He further said, “DMK is first political party that comes in support of Muslims.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Stalin wrote in Tamil: “I participated in the 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and expressed the feeling that love should spread across the world and peace should prevail. Whenever minorities face difficulties, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will always stand as their shield.”

The outreach comes as Tamil Nadu’s political space is seeing extensive activities from all parties in view of the 2026 TN assembly election.
