Political Update: BJP Accuses Mamata Banerjee of Threatening Home Minister Amit Shah

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her recent remarks directed at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that she issued threatening statements. The BJP accused her of protecting illegal immigrants in the state for political purposes and claimed that their inclusion in electoral rolls undermines democratic processes. Party leaders stated that such statements are not only a direct challenge to the Home Minister but also send a message to citizens about disregarding the law. The controversy has intensified political tensions between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP in West Bengal. The BJP further asserted that once it forms the government after the 2026 assembly elections, it will take strict action on illegal immigration.
