Political Heat: Akhilesh Yadav Attacks Government Over Student Protest, Demands Accountability

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has reacted strongly to the recent student protest in Delhi and launched a sharp attack on the central government over the alleged police action against protesters. Yadav questioned why no senior leader has resigned and alleged that those leaving office may reveal internal matters, which is why accountability is not being fixed. Speaking about the protest, Akhilesh Yadav said that students who travelled from different places to raise their concerns faced harsh treatment. He alleged that several protesters suffered injuries during the clashes and criticised the government’s handling of the situation. Yadav also questioned the reported visuals circulating on social media and demanded transparency from the authorities regarding the events. He said that the government should clarify the facts and take responsibility if any wrongdoing occurred. The SP leader linked the protest with wider concerns related to education, employment, and alleged paper leak cases. He accused the government of failing to protect students’ interests and raised questions over examination security and accountability. His remarks come amid an ongoing political confrontation between the government and opposition parties during the Parliament Monsoon Session. Opposition leaders have been demanding discussions on student issues, alleged paper leaks, and the handling of protests, while the government has maintained that all matters can be addressed through parliamentary procedures.
