The alleged Ram Temple donation theft case in Ayodhya has taken a fresh political turn after the arrest of eight accused, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) intensifying its attack on the BJP and the ongoing investigation. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh questioned the timing of the police action, alleging that authorities acted only after mounting public pressure. Addressing the developments, Singh raised questions over the delay in registering the case and demanded accountability beyond the eight individuals arrested. He also alleged that influential figures linked to the temple administration were being shielded from the investigation. These are political allegations and have not been established by the investigating agencies or a court. The arrests followed an FIR filed in connection with the alleged misappropriation of temple offerings. Police have stated that the accused were questioned before being taken into custody, and further investigation is underway. Officials have maintained that legal action will be guided by evidence collected during the probe. Meanwhile, the opposition has continued to demand a broader investigation, arguing that those responsible for supervising the donation counting process should also come under scrutiny. Questions have also been raised over the timing of the FIR and whether it was filed only after findings from the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry began to emerge.
