The Kerala Congress is still unable to decide its Chief Minister face even 6 days after the election results, despite forming the government. The issue has become a major political debate within the party. A crucial meeting was held at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi, where senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi participated. However, even after hours of discussion, no final consensus was reached on the Chief Minister’s name. The main contenders are K. C. Venugopal and V. D. Satheesan, with internal rivalry between their supporters further complicating the decision. The final call is expected to be taken by the top leadership. In Thiruvananthapuram, political tension has also increased, with Congress workers removing both support and protest posters amid confusion within the party. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commented on the delay, criticising Congress for failing to decide a leader despite having a strong mandate. Meanwhile, leaders are returning from Delhi, but the leadership issue remains unresolved, keeping Kerala Congress in a state of uncertainty.
