PM AT AI SUMMIT: PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam. The event began with an official group photograph at 9:15 AM, followed by the inauguration ceremony at 9:40 AM. Around 20 heads of state, nearly 60 ministers, global CEOs, the President of France, and the UN Secretary-General attended the opening session. PM Modi delivered his keynote address at 10:25 AM and later visited the AI Impact Expo, touring various international pavilions and participating in high-level discussions on artificial intelligence. The summit’s theme, “Welfare for All, Happiness for All,” is centered on four pillars — People, Planet, Progress, and Prosperity. India aims to establish itself as a global leader in AI, focusing not only on consumption but also on innovation and production. PM Modi emphasized that AI will not eliminate jobs but transform them, creating new opportunities through skilling and reskilling initiatives. The government’s India AI Mission includes plans for innovation, responsible AI development, watermarking to curb deepfakes, and stricter rules against harmful digital content. A key highlight of the summit was India’s first AI-powered EV sports bike by Ultraviolette Automotive, featuring accident detection, automatic emergency alerts, and live location sharing, marking a major advancement in two-wheeler safety technology.
