The NEET examination paper leak controversy has intensified after a key accused in Jaipur allegedly claimed that “big names are being protected” during the investigation. The accused has also questioned the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, suggesting that while lower-level individuals are being arrested, influential people linked to the wider network are not being brought under scrutiny. These remarks have added a new layer of political and administrative controversy to the already sensitive case. Reacting to the allegations and related political discussions, Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar stated that photographs with political leaders should not be misinterpreted, arguing that “anyone can be photographed with anyone” and that such images do not establish wrongdoing. He also targeted former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, accusing the previous government of failing to act decisively against exam-related corruption. The remarks have further escalated political blame games between rival parties over responsibility for repeated exam paper leak incidents. Meanwhile, the investigation has expanded beyond Rajasthan, with major developments reported from Bihar. Police conducted raids at VIMS Hospital in Pawapuri, Nalanda district, where links to the NEET paper leak network are being probed. Authorities have already arrested seven individuals in connection with the case. Among them is an MBBS student identified as a key suspect, who allegedly played a central role in the operation. Investigators recovered significant evidence during earlier arrests, including large amounts of cash, mobile phones, admit cards, and suspicious documents linked to multiple examinations. These findings have raised concerns about a wider interstate racket involving Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, and possibly other regions.
