Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a letter to village heads (Gram Pradhans) across the country, urging them to actively celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 in their respective Gram Panchayats. The initiative aims to promote the practice of yoga at the grassroots level and encourage greater public participation in the nationwide event. In his message, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. Every year, PM Modi personally participates in International Yoga Day celebrations and highlights the benefits of adopting yoga as a daily habit. This year’s appeal seeks to ensure that rural communities also become an integral part of the campaign by organizing local yoga sessions and awareness activities. The government has already planned several events related to Yoga Day across the country, and the Prime Minister’s letter is expected to strengthen participation in villages and reinforce the message of wellness, preventive healthcare, and community engagement through the ancient practice of yoga.
