National News: PM Modi greets devotees after Somnath puja, performs Shiva worship for nation’s welfare

After completing the worship of Lord Shiva at the Somnath Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen stepping out of the temple premises, greeting devotees with folded hands. Visuals showed the Prime Minister wearing a Rudraksha mala, which was presented to him by the temple acharyas as part of the concluding rituals. The atmosphere remained deeply spiritual as Vedic chants continued during his departure. Religious scholars explained that the puja was performed not for any personal wish of the Prime Minister, but for the welfare of the entire nation. No individual sankalp was taken in PM Modi’s name; instead, a general sankalp was offered for national health, prosperity, and overall well-being. Neither the Prime Minister’s name nor his lineage was mentioned, underscoring that the rituals were dedicated to collective national good. The ceremony concluded with Swasti Vachan, an important Vedic practice recited during invocation and farewell rituals. Priests highlighted that such chants are an integral part of Sanatan worship traditions and are recited for auspiciousness and peace. The worship involved symbolic offerings like milk, curd, and sacred water, each holding specific spiritual significance, particularly associated with prosperity and health. The Somnath rituals followed a series of cultural and spiritual events, reinforcing the temple’s historic and civilisational importance and reflecting a blend of spiritual devotion and national symbolism.
