Just days before the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, a daylight murder in Mokama has triggered political tremors across the state. Dularchand Yadav, a supporter of Jan Swaraj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi, was shot dead in Ghoswari while participating in an election campaign. Eyewitnesses claim that vehicles associated with JDU strongman Anant Singh attacked the convoy with sticks before firing at Dularchand, first hitting his leg and then allegedly running him over. However, Anant Singh has denied the accusations, alleging instead that the attack was orchestrated by RJD leader Suraj Bhan’s men and that his own convoy was targeted. The incident has reignited the jungle raj vs. sushaasan debate, putting Bihar’s law and order under sharp scrutiny. FIRs have been filed from both sides, and police have launched an investigation as tension spreads across the Mokama constituency.
