Sunetra Pawar is set to be sworn in as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, marking a significant political development in the state. Ahead of the oath ceremony, intense activity was reported at both Ajit Pawar’s Mumbai residence, Devgiri, and Sharad Pawar’s Baramati home. Senior NCP leaders Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel visited Sunetra Pawar in Mumbai to provide guidance before the party meeting scheduled at 2:00 PM, followed by the swearing-in at 5:00 PM. Parth Pawar also met Sharad Pawar in Baramati, reflecting ongoing deliberations within the Pawar family and NCP leadership. Sharad Pawar had earlier stated he was not informed about Sunetra Pawar’s appointment, highlighting the persistent differences within the Pawar family. The decision appears to have been finalized by the party, ensuring continuity in leadership after Ajit Pawar’s demise. Sunetra Pawar’s swearing-in ensures the party’s role in governance remains intact, while Parth Pawar is expected to move to the Rajya Sabha. Analysts note that the party’s strategic coordination and family dynamics are playing a key role in shaping the succession and future NCP leadership, as the party balances tradition, legacy, and power consolidation in Maharashtra.
