Janhit: From Regret to Respect, President Trump Praises PM Modi Amid US-India Tensions | ABP NEWS

US President Donald Trump has softened his stance towards India, openly praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and vowing never to break their friendship. Trump acknowledged the special relationship between India and the US, calling Modi a “great Prime Minister.” This marks a shift from his recent regretful post on Truth Social, where he lamented “losing” India and Russia to China. PM Modi responded warmly, appreciating Trump’s remarks and highlighting the deep, strategic partnership between the two democracies. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar supported the sentiment but noted the need for cautious engagement. Trump’s change in tone may stem from India’s rising global influence, refusal to yield to US trade pressure, and strong economic growth. However, some of Trump’s advisors continue to make controversial remarks about India, drawing sharp responses from Indian officials. As both leaders signal mutual respect, the world watches whether this diplomatic reset will hold ahead of the next US elections.
