India News: Security Tightened Across UP and Delhi Ahead of Bakra Eid, Police on High Alert

Security has been significantly strengthened across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi ahead of Bakra Eid, with police and Administration taking extensive measures to ensure law and order during the festival period. Several cities in Uttar Pradesh have witnessed flag marches conducted by senior police officials as part of precautionary steps to maintain communal harmony and prevent any untoward incidents. In Etah, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) led a flag march through sensitive areas, urging citizens to avoid rumours and maintain peace. In Agra, the Additional Director General (ADG) conducted a city-wide inspection to review security arrangements and assess preparedness. Authorities in Sambhal have placed the district on high alert, dividing the city into multiple sectors and deploying additional police forces in sensitive zones. Strict guidelines have been issued regarding public gatherings, including restrictions on offering prayers in public spaces and a complete ban on the sacrifice of prohibited animals. In Unnao, senior officials inspected arrangements at key religious sites including Eidgah and Jama Masjid, while surveillance has been intensified using drones and CCTV monitoring in sensitive localities. Meanwhile, the national capital Delhi is also on high alert. The Delhi Police has intensified security measures, especially in communally sensitive areas. Flag marches have been conducted in regions such as Kamla Market, Hauz Qazi, Chandni Mahal, and Daryaganj to reassure residents and maintain public confidence. Authorities in Delhi have warned against attempts to disturb peace through social media and have stated that strict legal action will be taken against individuals spreading rumours or provocative content. Cyber teams have been deployed to monitor online activity closely. Overall, security agencies across both states are focused on ensuring peaceful celebrations and preventing any law and order disruptions during Bakra Eid, with coordinated efforts between local police, intelligence units, and administrative officials.
