INDIA ALERT: PM Modi Reviews Middle East Crisis, Rules Out Lockdown, Focuses on Energy Stability

Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with chief ministers of all states to assess the impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict on India. The discussion focused on ensuring economic stability, strengthening supply chains, and safeguarding national energy security during the global uncertainty. Following the meeting, Modi emphasized that there is no plan to impose any lockdown in the country, firmly dismissing rumors circulating among the public. He urged all states to function with a “Team India” approach, highlighting the importance of coordination at every level of governance. A key priority outlined during the meeting was maintaining uninterrupted availability of essential resources, particularly oil and gas supplies, amid rising global volatility. The Prime Minister stressed that citizens’ interests must remain protected and directed states to take strict action against hoarding, black marketing, and misinformation. Additionally, efforts to strengthen industrial operations and ensure smooth logistics were discussed, aiming to minimize disruptions caused by international developments. Clear communication to the public was also emphasized to prevent panic and misinformation. Meanwhile, Mohan Yadav welcomed the Centre’s decision to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel, calling it a forward-looking step to shield consumers from rising fuel prices during the crisis. The government’s proactive measures reflect its focus on stability, coordination, and public welfare in challenging global conditions.
