IND vs PAK: Pakistan PM Says No T20 World Cup Match Against India

Pakistan has officially announced that it will not play the T20 World Cup match against India, putting an end to one of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament. The decision was confirmed by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who stated that Pakistan has taken a clear and well-considered stand on the issue. According to him, sports arenas should remain free from politics, and Pakistan does not want political matters to influence cricket matches. The India–Pakistan T20 World Cup match was scheduled to be played in Colombo, but with Pakistan’s refusal, the clash will now not take place. The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan believes cricket should unite people rather than become a platform for political confrontation. He added that the government made this decision after careful thought and consultation. This announcement has created a major stir in the cricketing world, as India–Pakistan matches attract massive global viewership and are considered marquee events in any ICC tournament. Fans from both countries and across the world have expressed mixed reactions, ranging from disappointment to support. The development could also have broader implications for the tournament’s scheduling and commercial interest.
