Harish Rana, the first person in India to be granted permission for passive euthanasia by the Supreme Court, died at AIIMS Delhi on Tuesday after remaining in a coma for more than 13 years, sources said. Rana had been on life support following a severe brain injury, and his case had become a landmark in the legal debate on the right to die with dignity in India.
