A major police operation in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok area ended in a deadly encounter after suspected gang members allegedly opened fire at a businessman’s residence during an extortion attempt. Four alleged shooters linked to the Deepak Nandal gang were killed during the exchange of fire, while one suspect sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment. According to police information, the accused arrived at the businessman’s house in a black Scorpio and allegedly fired shots to intimidate him after demanding extortion money. The businessman had reportedly informed the police after receiving the alleged threat, following which Crime Branch teams began monitoring the situation. When police reached the location, the suspects were allegedly asked to surrender. However, officials said the accused opened fire at the police team, leading to a gunfight. Around 60 rounds were reportedly fired during the encounter. Three police personnel were injured during the operation. Visuals from the spot showed damage caused by gunfire at the businessman’s residence, including marks on window glass. The Scorpio used by the suspects also reportedly suffered bullet damage during the exchange. The area was secured by police teams, and forensic teams collected evidence from the scene. The injured suspects were taken to a nearby hospital, where four were declared dead. Police are now investigating the alleged network of the Deepak Nandal gang and are trying to determine whether other businessmen or individuals in Gurugram were targeted for extortion. The encounter has drawn attention as a significant action against organized crime in the region. Authorities are continuing their probe to establish the complete sequence of events and identify any wider links connected to the gang’s activities.
