Gujarat News: Ahmedabad Tailor Fined For Failing To Deliver Bridal Blouse On Time

In Ahmedabad, a consumer court has imposed a fine on a tailor for failing to deliver a blouse before a customer’s wedding. The complainant, Poonam Ben Paria, had given the tailor ₹4,395 in advance to stitch a specially designed blouse for her wedding scheduled on December 24 last year. However, the tailor failed to complete the work on time, forcing her to attend the ceremony without the blouse she had ordered. Upset by the negligence, Poonam filed a complaint with the Ahmedabad Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, which ruled in her favor. The court ordered the tailor to refund the advance payment and pay additional compensation for mental distress and service deficiency. The judgment highlights growing consumer awareness and reinforces accountability in the service sector.
