In a major crackdown on counterfeit health products, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has busted a high-tech factory manufacturing fake ENO in the Ibrahimpur area of the capital. The factory was operating under the guise of a legitimate production unit but was secretly producing counterfeit versions of the popular antacid brand.During the raid, authorities seized over 91,000 packets of fake ENO, along with large quantities of raw materials, packaging machines, and branded labels used for duplication. The level of sophistication was alarming — the fake sachets closely resembled the original product, making it nearly impossible for consumers to identify the difference.Police officials stated that the counterfeit goods were ready to be supplied across Delhi and neighboring states, posing a serious risk to public health. Preliminary investigations suggest that the operation had been running for several months and was part of a larger network involved in the illegal trade of spurious fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).Crime Branch is now tracing the supply chain and the main culprits behind the fake ENO racket. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of over-the-counter health products available in local markets.
