Dehradun protest erupts over “I Love Mohammed” social media post, police control crowd

In Dehradun’s Patel Nagar area, a large protest broke out following a controversial comment on a social media post related to “I Love Mohammed.” Hundreds of people gathered on the streets, holding banners and placards while chanting slogans, which led to a temporary blockade of roads. The crowd quickly grew in the Brahmapuri area, prompting authorities to deploy police personnel to prevent escalation. Using controlled measures, law enforcement successfully managed the situation without any major violence. The protest underscores the growing influence of social media on public sentiment and the sensitivity surrounding religious issues, as well as the importance of timely police intervention to maintain peace and order. Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate and avoid any further disruption while investigations continue.
