Congress CWC Meeting In Patna Aims To Reclaim Bihar Ground Ahead Of 2025 Elections

The Congress party is staging a strong political show in Patna with its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting, signaling a renewed bid to strengthen its position in Bihar ahead of the 2025 assembly polls. Rahul Gandhi, joined earlier by Tejashwi Yadav in the Voter Adhikar Yatra, reached Sadaqat Ashram, Congress’s Bihar headquarters, where leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge gathered. Congress leaders have called Bihar a “historic land” where “historic decisions” will be made, aiming to reconnect with its traditional voter base of upper castes, Dalits, and Muslims, while also targeting the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs), long seen as Nitish Kumar’s support base.The party’s emphasis on symbolism, like Sadaqat Ashram, and the launch of a new Nyay Sankalp Patra with the Mahagathbandhan, highlight Congress’s effort to expand its appeal. With memories of its poor 2020 strike rate but improved performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress is expected to push for a larger share of seats in the alliance.While BJP strategizes on candidate selection and NDA seat-sharing, Congress is not just sending a message to rivals but also to its allies, asserting its importance within the coalition.
