The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced its 2026 board examinations today, with more than 43 lakh students appearing across India and overseas centres. Over 25 lakh students are taking the Class 10 exams, while more than 18 lakh candidates are sitting for the Class 12 board examinations. Entry to examination centres is permitted strictly between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, after which no student will be allowed inside. Visuals from multiple centres in Delhi show preparations in full swing, including arrangements at CM Shri School on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in Central Delhi. Students are expected to begin arriving shortly. Authorities have advised candidates to leave early, especially in Delhi, where traffic diversions are in place due to an ongoing AI summit. Several routes have been rerouted, leading to congestion in parts of the city over the past few days. With board examinations playing a crucial role in academic progression, students and parents are urged to plan travel carefully and reach centres well before the reporting deadline.
