The investigation into the mysterious death of Twisha Sharma has intensified after the Central Bureau of Investigationofficially took over the high-profile case. A CBI team has now reached the residence of former judge Giribala Singh, the same house where Twisha was found dead on May 12 under circumstances that have triggered nationwide attention and serious allegations from her family. While the former judge’s family initially claimed that Twisha died by suicide, her relatives have consistently alleged that she was murdered. The conflicting narratives have placed the case under intense public scrutiny, prompting demands for an independent and transparent investigation. According to officials, the CBI registered an FIR shortly after taking over the matter and moved swiftly by conducting a spot inspection instead of beginning with procedural formalities at the local police station. A four-member CBI team reportedly entered the residence to examine evidence, inspect the scene and question individuals connected to the case. The agency is also expected to review all documents, forensic material and the investigation records prepared earlier by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Sources indicate that investigators are closely examining the sequence of events from the night of May 12 and are attempting to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding Twisha’s death. Earlier, SIT officials had brought Samarth Singh to the residence to recreate the crime scene as part of their inquiry. The CBI is now likely to conduct fresh questioning of all individuals connected to the case, including Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh. The case gained further momentum after the Supreme Court of India observed during a hearing that the CBI is a competent agency capable of conducting an impartial investigation into the matter.
