Breaking: TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee Allegedly Attacked in Hooghly Amid Political Tension in West Bengal

A fresh incident of political violence has been reported from West Bengal, where TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee was allegedly attacked in Hooghly. According to visuals, during his visit to the area, some people raised slogans like “chor-chor” (thief-thief) and showed black flags. The situation escalated when supporters and locals confronted each other, and an alleged attempt was made to attack the MP. In the video footage shown, Kalyan Banerjee can be seen surrounded by party workers and security personnel while trying to move away from the crowd. He is seen holding his head, indicating he may have sustained an injury, though the extent is not officially confirmed. This incident comes a day after a similar confrontation involving TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, raising concerns about repeated political clashes in the state. TMC has alleged that party leaders are being targeted in a coordinated manner, while opposition voices have countered that public anger is behind such incidents.
