Fresh details have emerged regarding the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report submitted to the Uttar Pradesh government three days ago in the ongoing investigation linked to alleged irregularities in Ram Mandir trust-related operations. While the official report has not been made public, sources suggest it has played a key role in recent administrative developments, including the resignation of senior trust officials. According to inputs attributed to the SIT findings, investigators examined CCTV footage spanning from April 27 to June 5. The analysis reportedly highlighted multiple suspicious incidents, with claims that around 70 irregular events were observed within a 40-day period. These findings have raised concerns about monitoring and internal controls within donation and offering management systems. The reported draft findings also point to audit discrepancies over the past three financial years (2022–2025), including inconsistencies in donation records, mismatch in documentation related to offerings, and gaps in inventory classification systems. Sources further indicate that CCTV coverage in key counting and storage areas was inadequate, weakening oversight mechanisms. Additionally, the report is said to have flagged weaknesses in internal governance, supervisory accountability, and security protocols, which were reportedly found to be more procedural than practical in implementation. These observations have intensified scrutiny over administrative responsibility within the trust’s operational framework. Following these developments, Champat Rai and Anil Mishra have reportedly resigned from their positions on moral grounds, as pressure mounted over alleged lapses. However, investigative officials have not yet made any final determination of criminal liability, and the matter remains under active inquiry. While speculation continues regarding custodial interrogation and further legal action, officials emphasize that the investigation is still in its early stages and conclusions will depend on complete verification of evidence, including financial records, CCTV analysis, and witness statements. The case remains politically and legally sensitive, with further updates expected as the SIT report moves through official review and judicial processes.
