In Chandigarh and Mohali, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged strong protests against the arrest of Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Party workers came out on the streets carrying placards and raising slogans against the BJP and the ED, accusing them of political misuse of power. The protests intensified in Mohali’s Phase 7 area, where AAP supporters shouted slogans like “ED-BJP nexus down” and “Punjab will not bow down to injustice.” The party alleged that the arrest is part of a political conspiracy targeting AAP leaders in Punjab. AAP leaders, including top figures like Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi, have earlier accused the BJP of misusing central agencies to harass opposition parties. The party has now expanded protests across Punjab, claiming the action is politically motivated ahead of upcoming elections. Overall, the situation has escalated political tensions in Punjab, with AAP mobilizing statewide demonstrations against the arrest and the BJP-ED linkage allegations.
