Breaking: Political Row Erupts Over NEET Paper Leak; CBI to Probe Massive Scam Case

A major political controversy has intensified following the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination amid allegations of a large-scale paper leak. Opposition leaders have strongly criticized the repeated occurrence of exam irregularities in national-level competitive tests, questioning the accountability of authorities and the effectiveness of the examination system. Several political figures have alleged that repeated leaks in examinations such as NEET, REET, and other recruitment tests point toward a deeper systemic failure and possible nexus involving organized groups. In sharp political reactions, allegations have been raised regarding the lack of stringent punishment for those previously involved in paper leak cases, with critics claiming that many accused individuals have either been granted bail or avoided long-term consequences. Opposition voices argue that such outcomes weaken deterrence and encourage recurrence of similar incidents, putting the future of lakhs of students at risk. Congress leaders have demanded stronger accountability mechanisms, questioning who will take responsibility for the repeated disruption of crucial examinations affecting over 20 lakh candidates. They have also raised concerns about whether adequate reforms have been implemented to prevent such malpractice, or whether systemic loopholes continue to be exploited by organized networks. Meanwhile, authorities have escalated the investigation by handing over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to official sources, the CBI will soon begin questioning the arrested accused, with 13 individuals already in custody under the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG). The investigation is expected to expand further as central agencies examine deeper links and possible interstate connections related to the alleged paper leak. The controversy has triggered widespread concern among students and parents, many of whom are demanding transparency, stricter enforcement laws, and a foolproof examination mechanism. Education experts have also emphasized the urgent need for structural reforms to restore trust in India’s competitive examination system and ensure fairness for future aspirants nationwide.
