Breaking: PM Praises Vice President’s Lifelong Service, Calls Him Inspiration for Nation

A special session of Parliament began today with an atmosphere of pride as Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a heartfelt address honouring the newly appointed Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and Vice President of India. The Prime Minister described it as a moment of great honour for all members, highlighting the Vice President’s lifelong dedication to public service, his humility, and his ability to remain above protocol despite holding high constitutional posts. PM Modi recalled the Vice President’s long journey—from a modest background to serving as Governor in multiple states including Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Puducherry. He emphasised the Vice President’s deep connection with tribal communities and his commitment to the welfare of the marginalised. The Prime Minister also narrated two defining moments from the Vice President’s life: his near-drowning incident in childhood and his survival during a deadly blast ahead of an Advani rally. Modi also shared a lesser-known personal insight—how the Vice President gave up non-vegetarian food after visiting Kashi, inspired by a spiritual awakening. Calling him a symbol of service, discipline, and courage, the Prime Minister said his leadership as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha will guide the nation.
