Breaking News: West Bengal Government Files Caveat in Supreme Court Ahead of ED Hearing

In a significant development from West Bengal, the Mamata Banerjee-led government has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court in response to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) petition. The state government has requested that its side be heard before any orders are passed in the case concerning raids on IPIPack offices in Kolkata. The caveat aims to ensure that the proceedings are not one-sided, allowing the Mamata government to present its position in court. The case has already created political turmoil in the state, with TMC preemptively approaching the Supreme Court following delays in hearings at the Kolkata High Court. Legal experts suggest that if the ED decides to move the Supreme Court, the hearing could potentially take place on Monday, with the state government ensuring its representation to safeguard its interests.
