The Vishasha Sharma death case has intensified, with Bhopal Police forming an SIT to investigate the matter. While the case was initially reported as suicide, the victim’s family strongly alleges that she was murdered and subjected to mental and physical harassment by her in-laws after marriage. The case has gained attention due to the influential background of the accused family, including a retired judge mother-in-law and a senior lawyer husband. The family claims there were delays and irregularities in registering the FIR and questions the fairness of the investigation, demanding that the case be transferred out of Madhya Pradesh and a second postmortem be conducted at AIIMS Delhi. A key controversy has emerged over evidence handling, with reports suggesting that the nylon belt allegedly used in the death was not presented during postmortem, raising doubts about the investigation. Police have now sent the belt for forensic examination. Meanwhile, anticipatory bail hearings for the accused are underway, and the victim’s family is planning a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding justice and a transparent investigation.
