Tension flared up in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district after an alleged attack on a local activist in the Tarana area triggered widespread unrest. Following the incident, angry groups took to the streets, damaging public buses and attempting arson at multiple locations. Stone-pelting was also reported, prompting a heavy police response. Protesters surrounded the local police station, escalating the situation further. According to police officials, the injured person is currently undergoing treatment, and based on preliminary statements, an attempt to murder case has been registered against six accused individuals. Senior officers confirmed that the situation in Tarana is now under control. Additional police forces have been deployed, with drone surveillance and extra CCTV monitoring put in place. Authorities stated that teams are conducting overnight operations to trace and arrest the accused, assuring strict action in the case.
