In a dramatic escalation of tensions, US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is dead. Posting on social media, Trump described Khamenei as “one of the most brutal figures in history” and urged Iranian military forces to surrender immediately. He warned that this is their “last chance” to lay down arms or face severe military consequences from the United States and its allies. Soon after, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also asserted that there are strong indications Khamenei was killed in a targeted strike on his bunker. Israeli media reports claim intelligence agencies confirmed the development after hours of assessment. Meanwhile, hostilities continue across the region. Missiles launched by Iran toward Tel Aviv were largely intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, though injuries were reported. The UAE said its air defenses destroyed multiple ballistic missiles and drones allegedly fired toward its territory. Despite these claims, there has been no official confirmation from Iran, and retaliatory strikes are ongoing.
