A shocking incident has emerged from Greater Noida, highlighting serious environmental negligence. In Dankaur’s Mahmoodpur Gurjar village, at least 25 sheep died after drinking toxic water, while over 50 others are reported to be in critical condition. The contaminated water allegedly came from a nearby automobile parts cleaning workshop, where chemical waste was being discharged openly. After receiving information, police and health department teams rushed to the spot and collected water samples for testing. The administration has sealed the workshop and detained several people in connection with the incident. Villagers have raised concerns, stating that complaints about polluted water in the area were made earlier as well. The incident has sparked fears about public health risks, as the same toxic water may threaten local residents and livestock. This case once again underscores the urgent need for strict monitoring of industrial waste disposal and stronger enforcement of environmental safety norms.
