An SIT has been formed by Bhopal Police to investigate the death of model and South Indian actress Vishasha Sharma, which has turned into a high-profile case. While the police initially registered it as a suicide case, the victim’s family strongly alleges that she was murdered and not driven to suicide. The family claims Vishasha was subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment after marriage and has presented chats and other evidence to support their allegations. The case involves a powerful family background, as her mother-in-law is a retired judge and her husband, Samarth Singh, is a senior lawyer. The family has also raised concerns about the fairness of the investigation in Madhya Pradesh and is demanding that the case be transferred to Uttar Pradesh. They are additionally seeking a second postmortem at AIIMS Delhi for a more thorough examination. Meanwhile, the accused family members have received interim bail, which the victim’s family is opposing. The court is expected to hear related bail matters, while the SIT continues its investigation to determine whether the death was suicide or homicide.
