Breaking News: Passenger Arrested at Mumbai Airport After Being Caught With Cannabis

A passenger travelling through Mumbai Airport was arrested after customs officials allegedly recovered a substantial quantity of marijuana from his luggage. The incident occurred during a routine baggage screening, where security personnel noticed suspicious images on the scanner and immediately pulled the traveller aside for a detailed check. According to officials, the seized substance tested positive for marijuana, following which the passenger was detained under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine whether the accused was acting alone or was part of a larger drug-smuggling network operating through airports. Security agencies are also examining the passenger’s travel history, contacts, and possible links with suppliers. The arrest has once again highlighted increasing attempts to transport narcotics through major airports despite regular surveillance and strict law-enforcement measures. Customs officials said that vigilance at Mumbai Airport remains high, and additional checks are being conducted to curb drug trafficking. The case has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action, and the accused will be produced in court after the completion of initial interrogation
