Ahead of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to Rajasthan, police have taken preventive action in Sirohi district by placing Karni Sena leader Balwant Singh under house detention. The move comes after he reportedly warned of showing black flags in protest against the new UGC regulations during the Prime Minister’s tour. Authorities acted citing security concerns and the need to maintain law and order during the high-profile visit. Earlier, Karni Sena chief Mahipal Singh Makrana had also been placed under detention as a precautionary measure. Police officials stated that the action was taken to prevent any disruption or untoward incident during the Prime Minister’s program in the state. Security arrangements have been intensified across key locations in view of the visit. The Karni Sena has been vocal in its opposition to certain policy decisions, and the warning of protests prompted swift intervention by local authorities. As of now, the situation remains under control, with police closely monitoring developments to ensure a peaceful and secure environment during the Prime Minister’s Rajasthan tour.
