Breaking News: Inside Story of Turkmen Gate Bulldozer Action Near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque in Delhi

The bulldozer action near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque at Delhi’s Turkmen Gate sparked major controversy, with questions raised over the timing and legality of the operation. According to officials, the MCD carried out the demolition at night to minimize public inconvenience, deploying over 30 bulldozers and nearly 50 dumpers. The action targeted illegal commercial structures, including a banquet hall and a diagnostic center, built on encroached land adjacent to Ramlila Maidan. Authorities clarified that the mosque’s main prayer area was untouched. As per MCD records, the encroachment exceeded the permitted 0.195-acre area and was identified during a joint survey by civic and land agencies following an NGO complaint. Heavy security remains deployed as debris clearance continues and police investigate those involved in violence.
